Radio enables modern life, but most people know little about it. This hands-on field trip introduces you to the wonders of radio technology and lets you do things you never knew you could do. It should be especially interesting to students of science, engineering, and math.
Amateur (ham) radio was established worldwide almost 100 years ago to support development and advancement of radio technology by amateurs.. Nobel Prize Winning ham and physicist Joe Taylor invented a digital technology, FT8, that you will see today.
What you will see, learn about, and interact with hands-on:
talking to people all over North America and beyond
sending emails without cell phone, internet, or utility electricity
Morse Code - in use and on a computer to experiment with
